Opposite of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, we also discovered this very posh and luxurious shopping mall called Starhill Gallery, which houses all the famous brands like Louis Vuitton and Chanel.
With such a classy surrounding, it was only fitting that we had a great dining experience there, and we found exactly just that in the Feast Village located on the basement of this marvelous mall.
In this Feast Village, there are a range of diverse cuisines, from Chinese to Thai to Korea, and the entire floor is nicely decked out in various themes for the various cuisines.
But Shook! caught our eye more than anything else, and there was this initial promise of Chinese, Italian, Japanese and Western grill menus that aroused our insatiable curiosity. We decided to have a go at this beautifully decorated restaurant.
Everything associated with Shook! had a touch of class about it. From the interiors to the tables and plates, it seemed as if the restaurant was intent on making you feel soothed and relaxed. Indeed, we felt just right at home here and had a great view of the mall from where we were seated.
Pauline had this delicious plate of pan fried salmon served with sauteed mushrooms and truffle butter on the side. The salmon was beautifully cooked, just about pink in the middle and perfectly moist. The truffle butter was sinfully delicious and had this heavenly texture and taste about it.
I had this amazing dish of succulent king prawns and linguine tossed in this utterly gorgeous white wine butter sauce. The lingering scent of the alcohol was the perfect perfume to this pasta dish, and the prawns were beautifully cooked and generously enormous. Though the butter had a slightly oily texture to it, I had nothing but praise for this dish.
All said, Shook! totally exceeded our modest expectations when we walked into it. The service was exemplary as well, and we wished we had ordered more as we did have a little something prior to going to Shook!
