Our good friend and resourceful foodie, Bobcat introduced us to this quaint little satay stall in a Hougang coffee shop one weekend, and I was unable to go try this out, until now.
Winekaki and I were having our Ri Yi beef noodles and I remembered Bobcat telling me to try this out at night as they only operate at night. And boy, was it a worthwhile visit!
They only sell chicken, pork and beef and we had a sampling of all the various options. Truth be told, the waiting time was quite significant as it took more than half an hour to get our order of about 50 sticks of satay to be done.
The chicken satay here was quite different. Whereas others like Fatboy Satay include a quite hefty chunk of fat within the stick, there was only lean meat in Poh Kee's satay.
Still, the meat was incredibly tender and moist, and not chewy at all. And the barbecued meat was fragrant and full of delicious flavors with a slight hint of char.
As good as the satay meat was, it was the peanut sauce that elevated this hawker favorite into the next stratosphere of culinary goodness. It was rich with sweetness and spiciness, and when paired with the barbecued meat, it really brought out the flavors of the satay beautifully!
Winekaki had the privilege of tasting the beef and pork at home and assured me that they were just as good, so I will take this word for it. But take my word for one of the best satay I have tasted on this island. Wonderful!

Am glad both of you love the satay. The Ponggol Mee Goreng next door is also very good.
